Large fishing boats have a big transom with plenty of room for a big boat name. And yet, motor yachts of equal size very often have only a small hull section that is suitable for a boat name. The difference, of course, is a matter of function. Fishing boats need a wide transom to make room for multiple people with fishing gear – while motor yachts (especially newer models) are designed with an open stern and a large swim platform for easy access to the water and recreation. During the drafting process for a boat name, I like to use a picture of the boat as a backdrop to make the most out of the size and shape of the available hull area. Below are some examples of boat names I’ve installed for larger fishing boats and motor yachts. When you are done browsing, please return to my boat name ordering page for pricing and scheduling.

There's no substitute for patience and having the right tools when removing old vinyl lettering. Very old lettering can become brittle and very challenging to remove. My removal technique has been honed over the years and we will strip the vinyl and adhesive from your hull without damaging the gelcoat. Painted boat names can be removed with wet sanding and polishing. In some cases, a solvent may also be used.
